Production Test Engineer
Passionate about Re-inventing Forestry!
We are looking for a hands-on Production Test Engineer with knowledge and experience in electronics. You will play an important role in building up our production engineering team with a focus on handling the different challenges associated with assembling and testing advanced electronic systems.
This role is critical in ensuring our designs successfully transition from R&D into repeatable, high-quality production.
The role:
As a Production Test Engineer at AirForestry, you will be responsible for establishing and owning the production framework for both prototypes and early series production of our drone and harvesting tool. Your focus will be on understanding and maintaining the functions and quality of the electronic systems all the way from individual parts to the fully assembled system.
This is a hands-on scale-up role where you will start with limited structure and gradually help put processes, tools, and routines in place. Your work will range from defining sub-system test sequences and work instructions to troubleshooting production issues on the shop floor or handling quality issues together with suppliers
Responsibilities:
Continuously improve production efficiency, quality, and robustness
Establish production processes, workflows, and infrastructure such as test cells for the drone driveline.
Work with R&D to set up and maintain production testbeds for circuit boards and other subsystems.
Create and maintain work instructions, BOM structures, and production documentation
Support prototype builds, pilot builds, and ramp-up to low/medium volume production
Identify production risks early and drive corrective actions
Work closely with procurement and suppliers on traceability, quality, and lead times
Experience:
3+ years of experience in electronic testing and/or service of electronic equipment.
Experience taking products from design into production
Strong understanding of electronic production processes
Ability to work hands-on with physical hardware and production equipment
Fluent in Swedish and English
Meritorious:
Experience from low-volume / high-complexity products
Background in aerospace, automotive, robotics, or industrial machinery
Experience with production/service of medtech electronics.
Experience setting up pilot lines or early production in a startup or scale-up environment
Who you are:
You are pragmatic, structured, and comfortable with ambiguity. You enjoy turning “almost working” designs into robust, buildable products. You’re equally comfortable in schematic reviews, Excel sheets, supplier calls, and on the workshop floor. You ask the annoying but necessary questions — early.
You will be a key part of a fast-paced, technically deep team working with cutting-edge hardware in real-world environments. We are office-first and based in Uppsala, with frequent hands-on work and close collaboration across disciplines.
We look forward to your application!

Reinvent forestry with our great team
We have a world class organization in scale up, technology and flight, to build a new way to manage forests to help solve the climate and biodiversity crises. And we’re having a lot of fun doing it!
As a hands-on, experimental, and outdoorsy bunch, we focus on getting things done. We're quality-oriented, problem-solving, fact-based, kind, open and ask lots of questions. Sounds like a group you’d have a good time with?
There’s currently about 33 of us and we are always on the lookout for the best and brightest!
About AirForestry
We build cutting edge forestry technology that helps solve the climate and biodiversity crises. Our mission is to contribute to a substantial positive change by creating better forests for everyone.
Forestry is a long-term project. What is harvested today was tended by previous generations, and what is planted today will be harvested by our grandchildren.
AirForestry provides solutions for thinning forests with the help of
electric drones that can harvest trees from the air. AirForestry reduces
the need for access roads, eliminates the consumption of diesel, and
provides a better working environment for those who work in the forest.
We have paying customers and great partnerships. See our main website for more information.
